The most common symptoms of endometriosis are pelvic pain, cramping and abnormal menstrual bleeding. Other warning signs you should look for include:
- Painful periods (sometimes heavy)
- Bleeding between periods
- Lower back pain
- Mid-cycle pain during ovulation
- Pain when having sex
- Pain with bowel motions
- Pain with a full bladder
- Infertility
- Less common are diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, constant tiredness and increasing PMS
Some women with endometriosis have little or no pain. It is only when they visit their doctor with fertility problems that they discover they have endometriosis.
